National Taxpayers and Tax Protection Organization is a grass root non-profit, non-partisan organization, which works as a watch-dog to protect taxpayers' rights, enhance ethical revenue collections, influence accountability, transparency and development.

We also mobilize taxpayers to get involved in referenda and other national elections as a block vote to influence fiscal and other national compelling issues.

In addition, we monitor code of conduct by tax inspectors and collectors and following taxes to their rightful conclusions.

GOALS:

• Put in place a more tax compliant society in Uganda
• Empower masses to monitor code of conduct by tax inspectors and collectors and enable tax payers to ask for accountability from their leaders
• Identify more common sense taxable areas for the government, to reduce a repeated tax increments on particular commodities and services
• Replacement of progressive income tax with flat income tax i.e. 10%.
• Reduced Value Added Tax (VAT) on essential goods and services i.e. water and electricity.
• Ability of tax payers and the masses to encounter political corruption and exposing politicians who trade in influence and grant favors that poison politics and threaten democracy
• Establishment of a radio and TV stations to create awareness among grass root taxpayers and society
• Formation of more Taxpayers Associations in Africa and the whole world.

APPEAL:
N-TAPO like most Associations is member driven and with freedom to fund raise from donors and well wishers of its programs. Although the idea of Taxpayers Associations is new in Uganda and Africa, it will, with time slowly, humbly and surely sink into peoples mind through continuous sensitization programs.

The biggest fraction our population is predominately uneducated, illiterate,or semi illiterate people who are easily intimidated or bribed because of poverty and ignorance. The low level of contention with the little they posses makes them to accept all forms of low standard program arrangements.

While most of our people know very little of their human rights and freedom, it leads them to adopt an attitude of infirioty complex, resignation and helplessness in all situations.

The need therefore for all well wishers of our programs, to stand with us by guiding us with ideas and financial assistance, to achieve our goals is more than welcome.
